FACE Limousin, Total Foundation, ANAH (French national housing authority), PACT 87
The Legrand Foundation aims to make both builders and underprivileged home-owners aware of the risks related to ageing electrical installations and of the available solutions to make homes safer.
This project forms part of the ANAH “Better living”programme and is implemented in liaison with the Total Foundation. It has led to the FACE Limousin Business club hiring 10 ambassadors of energy efficiency and electrical safety, who act locally on behalf of households living in situations of energy and/or electricity poverty in the Haute-Vienne area. A show apartment in the La Bastide quarter of Limoges houses solutions for pedagogical demonstration purposes.
VISUAL
The project aims to enable:
- house calls to help identify electricity-related risks in the home. People visited receive advice on how to reduce their energy bill and optimise electrical safety in thehome (e.g. by avoiding overloading multi-socket units or locating power outlets too close to a water supply, etc.);
- connecting people in need with professionals to help necessary installation conformity work to be performed.
Initially launched in Limoges, this project will be extended to Strasbourg in 2015.
